In a high-class and dramatic final of the Energie Steiermark Trophy, the Moser Medical Graz99ers caused an upset by defeating the Swedish favorites Malmö Redhawks to win the title for the first time. Nick Bailen put Graz ahead in the 28th minute in a power play. This 1-0 lead lasted a long time before the Swedes equalized with a two-man advantage two minutes before the final buzzer. The game remained undecided in overtime, forcing a penalty shootout. There, 99ers goalie Nicolas Wieser became the match winner with four saves. Marcus Vela was the only player to convert his penalty, shooting Graz to tournament victory.

Bolzano reaches the final of the South Tyrol Summer Classic
HCB Südtirol Alperia defeated the Nuremberg Ice Tigers 2-1 in overtime in front of 2,100 spectators at the Sparkasse Arena in Bolzano at the end of an intense and hard-fought game. Matt Bradley scored the winning goal in a power play after Cole Schneider had tied the game in the second period, also on a power play. Bolzano thus advances to the final of the South Tyrol Summer Classic, where the Czech club Škoda Plzeň awaits on Sunday at 8:00 p.m. Škoda Plzeň had previously defeated EHC Kloten 3-0.

Salzburg finishes in fourth place at the Red Bulls Salute
EHC Red Bull Munich beat EC Red Bull Salzburg 6-2 in the third-place game at the Red Bulls Salute 2025 in Zell am See, securing third place ahead of Salzburg. In what was at times an emotional and hard-fought duel, the decision was only made in the final period when Munich pulled away with four power play goals. In the sixth meeting between the two Red Bull clubs, the Germans came out on top this time – after Salzburg had triumphed in the third-place game last year. After goals from Troy Bourke and Tyler Lewington, Salzburg led 2-1 after the first period. Munich initially equalized in the second period, before the Germans finally sealed the game with four power play goals in the last 15 minutes. Rögle secured the tournament victory at Red Bulls Salute with a 4-1 win over Zug.
