In the first game after the international break, Sterzing, who had recently suffered three defeats, travelled to Cortina. The visitors had more of the play in the first period, but it remained goalless until the break. After the restart, Jouka Juhola put the home side ahead in the powerplay. Shortly afterwards, Cortina defenceman Gregory Di Tomaso was sent off the ice for boarding, but Sterzing was unable to take advantage of their numerical superiority. In the 49th minute, Diego Cuglietta made the preliminary decision, with the puck bouncing over the line off the shoulder of visiting goalie Jakob Rabanser. The South Tyroleans took full risk with pulling their netminder. Franceso Adami secured the victory with an empty netter to make it 3:0, goalie Hayden Hawkey recorded his fourth shutout of the season. Cortina thus improved to second place in the Masterround, while the Broncos slipped to fourth place.
