You're entering your 15th season in Kitzbühel - how easy was it for you to decide to stay with your favorite club for another year?
Henrik Hochfilzer: "The decision to play another season at my favorite club was very easy for me. Kitzbühel is more than just a club for me; it's a part of my life and my home. The support of the fans and the feeling of playing here motivates me every year. I'm looking forward to getting back on the ice and giving my best!"

What expectations do you have for the coming season?
"I'm looking forward to the coming season with a lot of anticipation and positive expectations. After last year, we've worked hard to become stronger as a team. Our goal is to make the playoffs and grow together as a team. I think we can achieve great things with the right attitude and team spirit!"

Last season, you were eliminated in the quarter-finals. How much does the clear 4-0 defeat against Sterzing still hurt - and what needs to go better in the 2025/26 season to advance to the next round?
"The defeat definitely hurts. It was frustrating because we had bigger goals after winning the Austrian AHL championship."

"But I think we've learned a lot from this experience. To move forward next season, we need to work even closer together as a team, improve the small details and stay focused in the crucial moments. Now we are ready to take on the challenge."

You also wear the “C” on your chest. What responsibilities do you have as captain - and how would you like to lead and support the young players in particular?
"As captain, I not only wear the ‘C’, but also have the responsibility to bring the team together. It's important to be a role model, both on and off the ice. I especially want to lead and support the young players by showing them how we should work as a team. I believe that open communication and trust are key. I encourage them to share their opinions, ask questions and learn from their experiences."

How do you prepare for the new season in the offseason - and how much hockey and anticipation is already in your head?
"In the offseason, I focus on integrating a lot of strength and endurance training alongside my work. I believe that a strong physical base is crucial in order to perform as well as possible in the new season. That's why I regularly work on my fitness so that I can start training stronger and fitter. I'm really looking forward to the new season! Hockey is a central part of my life and I often think about how I can improve myself and the team. I can't wait to get back on the ice!"
