Fri, 05.01.2018: FBI VEU Feldkirch – EC Bregenzerwald 3:2 (0:0,1:0,2:2)
Both teams searched their luck in the offense (30:35-shots) from the start, but the goalies Patrick Kühne and Misa Pietilä were on Fire. So the fans at Feldkirch had to wait 40 minutes for the first goal. Stefan Wiedmaier was successful in a Power Play and the hosts were leading. The Wälder stayed unimpressed and turned the game with two goals from Jürgen Fussenegger (49.) and Philipp  Pöschmann (50.) within 62 seconds in period 3. The VEU-cracks did not give up and had a quick answer: Benjamin Kyllönen equalized just 162 seconds later. Late in the game ECB took another penalty (their eight) and this was punished by the VEU: In the following Powerplay Kevin Puschnik scored the 3:2 Game Winner after a pass from Niklas Tikkinen. VEU is sixth, ECB is on place 8.

Fri, 05.01.2018: HC Pustertal Wolves – HC Fassa Falcons 5:0 (3:0;2:0;0:0)
After the 24-hour postponement due to adverse weather conditions, the match between HC Pustertal Wölfe and HC Fassa Falcons is played. Thomas Erlacher, Maximilian Lancsar, Benno Obermair and Danny Elliscasis were absent on the home side. In the Fassa were absent the youngest Massimo Zanet, Soel Costantin, Ivan Lauton and Cesare Sottsas. The start of the game is without history. The home team definitely leaded to attack from the first second of the game. As often happened, however, it was the first penalty of the game that changed the result. After five minutes, in powerplay, Bruneck realized the first goal of the evening with Max Oberrauch that sent the puck under the crossbar. Then the referees used the video replay and the goal was validated. Then the Wolves decided to close the match early and before the end of the first period there were other two goals by Alex De Lorenzo Meo and Armin Hofer (powerplay). Then in the second period the home team advanced in the result with the goal of Nathan of Casmirro and then the goal of David Laner just halfway through the game. From here on, Bruneck controlled the match against an opponent who put his strength but couldn’t reopen the game. In the third time there were no other upheavals. The Wolves, so, won 5:0 as they prepared in the best way to the big derby on Saturday in Klobstein against Ritten. This match will decide the first place of IHL Elite for Group A. Thomas Tragust has earned the fourth shutout of the season. This, however, was the 13th consecutive defeat of the Falcons.
