Last year's two finalists of the win2day ICE Hockey League suffered two defeats each at the start of the new season in the Champions Hockey League. EC Red Bull Salzburg remained without a goal at Skelleftea (SWE) and also lost to Adler Mannheim (GER). The first two home games are now scheduled for the ICE champions: On Thursday, September 7th, starting at 8:20 pm, the team of Thomas Raffl will face the still unbeaten ERC Ingolstadt (GER), and on Saturday the Stavanger Oilers (NOR) will be the guests.

The HCB Südtirol Alperia also had to admit defeat to Adler Mannheim (GER) and also lost against Ilves Tampere (FIN). As the lone CHL participant, the "Foxes" inserted a scrimmage against HC Pustertal Wölfe on Tuesday evening, losing too. In total, the South Tyroleans conceded 17 goals in their last three games. This weekend, the duels with HC Servette-Geneva (CHE) and Belfast Giants (GBR) are now scheduled, both games will be played on the road.

Innsbruck aims second win
HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie is the lone ICE team that provided a win on the first weekend: 5-2 the "Haie" defeated Geneva. Followed by a clear 1-6 defeat in Biel – against the Belfast Giants (GBR) the Tyroleans want their second victory. This will be followed on Sunday by an away clash with German champions EHC Red Bull München.
