The Steinbach Black Wings Linz put in a strong performance in their home game against Zvolen. Emil Romig once again extended his streak and Graham Knott scored a brace after a few seconds in the second period. With the score tied at 3:3, the game went to a shootout, where both teams put on a show. According to league regulations, Shawn St-Amant would have scored the game-winner in this one, but under IIHF rules for international test games, the visitors were able to equalise again and clinch victory.

EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV won its first preseason home game 6:3 against KHL Sisak. After goals from Nikita Scherbak and captain Alexander Rauchenwald, the Carinthians led 2:1 after the first period, but the team from the Alps Hockey League put in a pleasing performance and the scoreboard showed a 3:3 draw after 40 minutes - Nick Hutchinson added a third for the home side. In the final period, the Carinthians made things clear. Kevin Hancock, Rauchenwald and Paul Sintschnig scored for a 6:3 win.
