As in the victory over Vienna two days ago, the Moser Medical Graz99ers had a short lineup. Nevertheless, the Styrians got off to a good start in Innsbruck, the first top chance was thwarted by HCI goalie Rene Swette. In the 14th minute Andrew Yogan even gave the 99ers the lead, but in the middle period the home side really turned up the heat. First Tyler Coulter (30th) equalised, scoring between the pads of Graz goalie Nicolas Wieser. Through further goals by Watson and Lattner, the Innsbruck side pulled ahead to 3:1 until the second period break. Shortly after the restart, Adam Helewka made the preliminary decision with a nice goal. In the end the Tyroleans won 5:2, celebrating their fourth victory in a row and returning to the top of the table.

Pioneers defeat the champions

The BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg were the biggest surprise of the day. After seven defeats in a row, the bottom team returned to winning ways with a 2:1 shootout victory over EC Red Bull Salzburg. The Salzburgers had clear advantages for long stretches of the game, but after Dominique Heinrich's early goal they were unable to score a second time against the home side, who were getting stronger towards the end. In the penalty shootout, the Vorarlbergers were rewarded for their efforts, with Hampus Eriksson scoring the only goal. The reigning champions thus suffered their fourth league defeat in a row.

Asiago wins again against Pustertal
HC Pustertal went ahead in the Italian ice hockey classic against Asiago with a goal by Marc-Olivier Roy after only 75 seconds, but the visitors turned the game around in the first period. First Troy Rutkowski equalised, then Giordano Finoro scored on a picture-perfect counter-attack after Salinitri's ideal assist to take the lead. The home side forced an overtime, in which Rutkowski was the match-winner with his second goal. Asiago thus also won the second duel of the season against their rivals.
