Without goalie Patrik Nechvatal, who has a long termed injury in lower body area, Znojmo hosted Innsbruck in the game, after which both teams could have ended last in the table. The Austrians started with a quite dangerous pressure on Znojmo´s defense, but the home team soon came with its own offensive force. The Czechs had two major chances with two breakaways, but neither Hlava nor Luciani could score. On the other side, it happened for Innsbruck: Lamoureux performed his own breakaway and shot above Halasz´s shoulder and after that John Lammers aimed to exactly the same spot.
The second period had also a better start for Znojmo, but it was again Innsbruck, who scored their goals. At first, Daniel Wachter stood still by Znojmo´s post and waited for a pass. Then he aimed between Halasz´s hands for his first EBEL-goale. The fourth goal of the Sharks was by Andrew Yogan, who made a breakaway and shot hard from a long distance.
The third period started with a great Znojmo´s pressure, which ended up with a goal by Adam Sedlak. The answer of Innsbruck was quick, Lamoureux with a breakaway made his job to the fifth goal of the host team. Znojmo then scored their second goal by Lattner, but Innsbruck again returned the favour to Znomo with their sixth and final goal by Andrew Clark. Each team will be in action on Sunday as well. The Czechs will travel to Szekesfehervar, the Sharks to Linz.
