HC TIWAG Innsbruck - the Sharks once again showed offensive punch in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League in the 2020/21 season. In the end, however, too many goals conceded and defeats in decisive games were the Tyroleans' downfall. Because of this, the Sharks have strengthened themselves in the offseason, especially on the defensive side. The Canadians Simon Bourque, Joel Messner, Ben Betker and the Czech Antonin Boruta should prevent the opponents from scoring goals. But also in the offensive the Tirolern should not lack penetrating power. The new imports Tim McGauley, Daniel Leavens , Alex Dostie, Zach Magwood (Canadian) and the US American Michael Huntebrinker are supported by the Austrian newcomers Martin Ulmer, Luis Ludin, Daniel Jakubitzka as well as Tirol returnee Nico Feldner.

"At first glance, everyone is getting along great. I think we have a really good team," comebacker Nico Feldner looks back on the first week of training. "It's hard to make an assessment after the first week, but so far it looks really good," said Feldner, who will join his new teammates for a team-building event at Area 47 on Friday. Another intensive week of practice will be followed by the first test on Friday against DEL club Straubing Tigers as part of the Haie Fest. "We're preparing well, the lines will certainly come together quickly and then we'll deliver a good game at the Haie-Fest," said the Tyrolean native, who has been through the development stages of the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy in Salzburg since U18.
