Innsbruck signs Feldner from Salzburg | Winkler stays on board

With Nico Feldner, the HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie announced the signing of another player from the EC Red Bull Salzburg. The 22-years-old native of Tyrol had been active with the Red Bulls since 2013. Already on Tuesday, Innsbruck announced the commitment of Daniel Jakubitzka, who also played the last years in Salzburg. Moreover the "Sharks" announced the contract extension with Dario Winkler.

Tyrolean-born Nico Feldner began his hockey career in Zirl and with the youth of Innsbruck. In 2013, the now 22-years-old moved to the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy. There he became champion with the U18 and U20 teams as well as with the Red Bull Hockey Juniors.The Tyrolean finally made the leap to the first team of Salzburg and played in the last three seasons a total of 89 games for the Red Bulls. Last season, the right-shooter was part of the team's core with 44 appearances.

Nico Feldner: "My first talks with the coach and the responsible persons went well and I look confidently on a great season 21/22. Personally, this step back home is a new chance for me to prove my skills. I'm really looking forward to playing in Innsbruck again."

HC TIWAG Innsbruck Head Coach Mitch O'Keefe: "For Nico the same applies as for Daniel (note Jakubitzka). It's nice that young Tyroleans want to play for Innsbruck again. This is exactly the path we are striving for. Nico brings quality and character. He will certainly help us."

Dario Winkler stays on board
23-years-old Dario Winkler will continue to play for Innsbruck in the coming season. For the attacker, it will be the second season with the "Sharks". In the season 2020/21 , the attacker, who was also born in Hall in Tyrol, made 48 appearances, scoring 15 points (3G / 12A).
