Further, the iClinic Bratislava Capitals got their first win after regulation, Hydro Fehérvár AV19 won after trailing three times and Sebastian Wraneschitz got his first shutout for the spusu Vienna Capitals.
Innsbruck upsets Salzburg
With a clear 4:1 home-win the HC TIWAG Innsbruck „Die Haie“ gave the EC Red Bull Salzburg the first season defeat and cheered the first victor after four losses in a row to take fifth spot in standings, while Salzburg dropped to third place. Innsbruck showed a strong defensive performance including a 96,6 save percentage of Rene Swette. After the game was tied at one after the first, a brace of Braden Christoffer got the “sharks” on winning ways.
Graz climbs the top
After a 3:2 overtime-win at Bolzano the Moser Medical Graz99ers became the new leader of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League, while the HCB Südtirol Alperia suffered its first season defeat in Marco Insam’s 500th game for the “foxes”, which had a deep line-up for the first time this season available. Finally, Oliver Setzinger gave the “99ers” the extra point after 28 seconds in the overtime. Daniel Catenacci still has a goal-scoring-streak available, as he opened the scoring in Palaonda.
First Bratislava win in regulation
With a comfortable 5:2 road-win at Steinbach Black Wings 1992 the iClinic Bratislava Capitals, which had Dusan Pasek supervising instead of diseased Rostislav Cada, cheered their first ICE-win after regulation. Five unanswered goals gave the Slovakian side a huge road-win in the end with five different players scoring. Linz lost for the fifth time in a row.
Fehérvár’s full line-up defeats Villach
With a full line-up available for the first time this season, Hydro Fehérvár AV19 snatched up a 5:3 road-win at EC Grand Immo VSV, which had to modify their line-up due to positiv COVID-19 cases. The Hungarian side had to tie the game three times, until Janos Hari hit the game-winner on powerplay in the final frame. Csanad Erdely had another brace. Villach remains winless in home-games and bottom-placed in standings.
First shutout for Wraneschitz
With saving 19 shots on goal Sebastian Wraneschitz posted his first shutout in the 4:0 road-win of the spusu Vienna Capitals at Dornbirn Bulldogs, which had to modify their line-up due to positiv COVID-19 cases. Vienna booked its ninth consecutive win against the “bulldogs”, after Ty Loney, who had a brace, got the Viennese on winning ways after 12 seconds.
