The US-American Colin Jacobs will play for Hydro Fehérvár AV19 in the upcoming season. The forward replaces Canadian Chris Langkow, who was already unable to play for the Hungarians last season due to injury. His rehabilitation was not ideal until recently, which is why the 31-years-old will not be an option for Fehérvár in the coming season.

Actually, Chris Langkow should be a permanent part of Hydro Fehérvár AV19 in the coming season. However, a long-lasting injury continues to trouble the Canadian, which is why the club has now decided to sign a replacement for the forward and not continue to rely on Langkow's services.

"Unfortunately, his injury did not heal as everyone had hoped. He is still not one hundred percent fit, so unfortunately we can not work with him. We are sorry, as a good player and a good person we wish him to be back on the ice as soon as possible," said Viktor Szélig, general manager of Hydro Fehérvár AV19, on the background of the decision.

US-American Jacobs replaces Langkow
The 28-years-old Colins Jacobs will play for the Hungarians in place of Langkow in the upcoming season. The U.S. native spent the last year and a half in Slovakia, before that he played consistently in North America.

"The ICE is a great league and I've heard that the team has an excellent fan base as well. Viktor Szélig has also outlined serious plans for me and set expectations for me, which I think are a challenge and an opportunity for my development, so I'm looking forward to working with him. Having played in Slovakia, I am familiar with Hungarian hockey, and my childhood friend Colton Hargrove has only positive things to say about the city and the team, so in the end the decision was easy," said the newcomer.
