Unfinished Business
Almost a year ago, HC Pustertal’s playoff run ended at the hands of KAC. The Wolves were swept 4-0 in the semifinals – a defeat that has stuck in their minds ever since. Now, they have a chance for redemption. And Jason Akeson is determined to help his team take the next step:

"We have to stick to our game plan and play as a united team. Everyone needs to embrace their role and give it their all. The opponent is a strong team, so we need discipline and hard work. Personally, it’s been a good season for me. I’ve developed great chemistry with my linemates, which makes my job easier. Now, I’m just excited to get started!"

A Leader with Scoring Ability
Akeson has repeatedly proven that he can reach peak performance when it counts. In the 2024 playoffs, he recorded 16 points, making him one of the league’s top postseason performers (only three finalists registered more points). His contributions were instrumental in leading HC Pustertal to their first-ever semifinal appearance in the win2day ICE Hockey League.

This season, the 34-year-old offensive powerhouse continues to showcase his skills. With 52 points (19 goals, 33 assists), he ranks among the league’s most dangerous forwards, currently sitting fourth in overall scoring. Against KAC, he has already collected four points (3 goals, 1 assist) in their four head-to-head matchups this season.

Playoff Mentality: Akeson Delivers When It Matters
Akeson already displayed his clutch abilities in the pre-playoffs against Olimpija Ljubljana. His highlight-reel goal in Game 2 left no doubt that he is ready to lead the Wolves through the knockout stage. The Canadian is a player who can change the course of a game at any moment.

The playoff opener against EC-KAC takes place today, Sunday – LIVE on live.ice.hockey or on DAZN-Italy (available exclusively in Italy).
