EK Die Zeller Eisbären - Steinbach Steel Wings Linz 5:3 (2:0,2:3,1:0)
EK Die Zeller Eisbären continue their winning streak. Against the Steinbach Steel Wings Linz, the Salzburgers recorded their sixth success in a row and found the connection to the second place in the table. The Upper Austrians, on the other hand, ended October without a single win and thus remain at the bottom of the table. Away from home, the Steel Wings have yet to record a win this season. The Polar Bears had everything under control at first and built a 4:0 lead until the 23rd minute. However, the visitors from Linz fought their way back into the match in the middle period and reduced the score to 3:4 within twelve minutes. Max Zimmermann then replaced Alois Schultes in goal and did not allow any further goals. The Polar Bears finally prevailed 5:3.
EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel – Red Bull Hockey Juniors 1:2 OT (0:0,1:1,0:0)
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors end the winning streak of EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel. After five victories in a row, the Eagles had to admit defeat for the first time since October 1. The Juniors return to the road to success after two defeats and confirmed the fourth place in the table. However, this required a hard piece of work in Kitzbühel. After a goalless first period, the second period was a success. First, Salzburg took the lead in powerplay, before Zell promptly equalized a few seconds later. Then came the goal drought again, until Philipp Krening ensured the decision in overtime - a few seconds before the supposed shootout.
Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan – HC Meran/o Pircher 2:5 (0:2,1:2,1:1)
HC Meran/o continues the upward trend after the botched start of the season. Meran/o won against the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan sovereign with 5:2 and thus has the third victory in the past four games. Especially Pascal Brunner was unstoppable on Wednesday night. The 20-year-old scored a hat trick, doubling his goal tally so far this season. With this success, the team, which has been active in the Alps Hockey League since last season, reduced the gap to the middle of the table.
Rittner Buam SkyAlps – HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice 1:4 (0:1,0:1,1:2)
HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice continued its winning streak also against Rittner Buam and celebrated already the ninth victory in a row. While the Slovenians were able to extend their lead in the standings, Ritten is gradually losing touch with the middle of the table. However, the home side held out against the offensive power for a long time. In the first period, Ritten even had more shots on goal, but still had to concede a goal. Jesenice added to their tally in the second period before deciding the game 3:0 at the beginning of the final period. The Slovenians eventually prevailed 4-1 and increased their lead over their first chaser to three points.
Hockey Unterland Cavaliers – SHC Fassa Falcons 3:2 S.O. (2:0,0:2,0:0)
The Hockey Unterland Cavaliers earned a 3-2 win over the SHC Fassa Falcons after a penalty shootout. The league newcomers, who after a fabulous start to the season have recently lost four of their last five games, were once again on the brink of defeat. For the SHC Fassa Falcons was thus able to conquer at least points in three of the last four games and thus continues to gain distance from the bottom of the table. After the Cavaliers started the game right away with a brace, Diego Iori answered, also with two goals, in the middle period. There were 25 scoreless minutes, including overtime, before Santeri Haarala scored in the shootout to decide the game.
S.G. Cortina Hafro – EC-KAC Future Team 1:2 S.O. (1:1,0:0,0:0)
The EC-KAC Future Team recorded the surprise of the round with a 2:1 shootout win against S.G. Cortina Hafro. While Cortina has scored points in eleven of twelve games so far, the EC-KAC Future Team recorded only their third win in the past eleven matches. The Carinthians started the match strong right from the start and needed just over two minutes for the opening goal. Cortina, however, managed to equalize before the end of the first period. After that, the Klagenfurters had especially goalkeeper Florian Vorauer to thank for not falling behind. The 22-year-old goalie saved 48 shots and thus ensured the chance for two points. After a goalless overtime period, Samuel Witting made the decision in the shootout and thus ensured the extra point.
