Jesenice celebrates shutout win against EC Bregenzerwald

HDD Jesenice recorded their first victory of the new Alps Hockey League season on Friday night. After dropping their opener 3-4 on the road against EK Zeller Eisbären, the Slovenians bounced back with a 3-0 home win over EC Bregenzerwald.

In front of 350 fans, Jesenice set the tone early. Erik Svetina opened the scoring midway through the first period before Sodja Zalokar doubled the lead just two minutes later. The visitors worked their way into the game but failed to capitalize on their chances, while Jesenice showed a strong penalty kill to keep control.

Bregenzerwald pushed in the final period but could not break through. In the last minute, Bine Tomazevic sealed the deal with an empty-net goal. With the shutout win, head coach Nik Zupančič’s team secured their first three points of the season, while the Vorarlberg side is still looking for their first goal and points.
