Not even 24 hours after their last matches, HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice and EC-KAC II met in Sunday's only Alps Hockey League game. With the bottom-placed club from Klagenfurt having a lead after the first period, the Slovenes turned the game around and took over at the top of the table, too.

The preconditions could not be more different. While Jesenice closed up to leader Ritten with a 5:1 home win against Cortina the day before, the young Carinthians suffered their 18th seson defeat in Wolkenstein. And the game started as most fans expected when Nejc Stojan took the lead for the favourites. However, the guest could hold pace with Jesenice and were rewarded for their efforts as Matthias Kern tied it at one after eight minutes. It became even better for the bottom-club with Kern finding the back of the net for a 2:1 KAC lead after 20 minutes. The middle frame was a mere 23 seconds when Lan Brun-Rauh scored the equalizer on power play. Now the Slovenes pressed hard and Tadej Cimzar's 3:2 was the result. The hosts took this tight lead into the third period where Klagenfurt failed to bounce back. Jaka Sodja (47.) and Miha Brus (56.) rounded off the scoring for a 5:2 home win with Jesenice taking over at the top of the table.
