Jesenice in quarterfinals | Bregenzerwald and Linz book ticket for pre-playoffs

Master Round:

Jesenice is in the quarterfinals of the Alps Hockey League
HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice became the second team this season to secure a spot in the Alps Hockey League quarterfinals. The Slovenians stopped the points run of Cortina, who before that always managed to register in the standings in the last five matches. For Jesenice it was already the third win in a row. In the middle of the second period Cortina was still ahead. Before Jesenice successfully increased the pressure and finally won 4:3.

Lustenau opens door to quarterfinals
EHC Lustenau recorded an immensely important victory over the Rittner Buam in the scramble for direct quarterfinal qualification. The Buam, meanwhile, missed their first chance to qualify directly for the playoffs. The premiere champion of the Alps Hockey League still needs one point to qualify, Lustenau would be in the quarterfinals with at least two points. The Vorarlberg team took the lead on Thursday with a brace from Remy Giftoplus and never relinquished it. The Lions eventually prevailed 3-2.

Asiago remains the measure of all things
Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey remains the measure of all things in the Master Round after a 7-4 win over SHC Fassa Falcons. The Yellow-Red celebrated the eighth victory in the ninth game of the intermediate round - in total they had to give up only three points in this phase and can no longer be ousted from first place. The Falcons took the lead in the second period on Thursday before Asiago started the successful final offensive. Daniel Mantenuto laced a brace for Asiago, Marchetti Michele even recorded a 4-point game.

Qualification Round A:

Bregenzerwald clinches pre-playoff ticket
The EC Bregenzerwald celebrated a 3:1 victory over the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan on Thursday and thus clinched the ticket for the Pre-Playoffs. In the Qualification Round A the three qualifiers Salzburg, Bregenzerwald and Sterzing are fixed. Both Bregenzerwald and Sterzing already know their pre-playoff opponents. The team from Vorarlberg will meet the winner of Qualfication Round B, HC Gherdeina, in the duel for the quarterfinals. SHC Fassa Falcons will have to deal with SHC Fassa Faclons, who will finish the Master Round on the last place.

KAC must bow out of race for pre-playoffs despite SO win
EC-KAC was able to capture a shootout win against the already fixed winner of Qualification Round A, but still has to end its season in the Alps Hockey League prematurely on Sunday. After an early 2-0 lead of Klagenfurt, Red Bull Hockey Juniors initially took command and even the lead in the first period. In the final period, the lead changed hands two more times before KAC prevailed in a pently shootout. Rasmus Lahnaviik scored a brace for the Klagenfurt team.

Qualification Round B:

Meran wins against Gherdeina
HC Meran/o Pircher successfully took revenge at HC Gherdeina valgardena.it, even though the Alps Hockey League newcomer will not be able to qualify for the next championship stage. Meran/o could win only three of its nine games so far in Qualification Round B and will play its last game of the season on Saturday. In their penultimate game today (Thursday), they celebrated a 2-0 win over HC Gherdeina, who suffered only their third defeat in this phase and, as of today, know their opponent for the pre-playoffs in EC Bregenzerwald.

Feldkirch with its back to the wall despite OT success
The BEMER VEU Feldkirch could conquer in the direct duel for a Pre-Playoff place with the EK Zeller Eisbären for the already second time a point more than their opponent, in the race for the Pre-Playoffs becomes the air nevertheless already thinly. While the Vorarlbergers absolutely need a win against HC Meran/o in the last game, they have to hope for a simultaneous defeat of the Eisbären against table last Vienna. Zell's renewed points win opened the door to the playoffs wide for themselves. On Thursday, Martin Ulmer ensured the decision.

Steel Wings qualify for pre-playoffs
The Steel Wings Linz qualified for the pre-playoffs with a 4-1 win over the Vienna Capitals Silver. The Viennese, on the other hand, have no more chance to improve in the standings and have to end their season on Sunday. The Upper Austrians were much more efficient than their opponents on Thursday and can now look forward to their first post-season appearance in the Alps Hockey League.
