Alps Hockey League | 6th – 8th January 2021:
Wed, 06.01.2021, 5.30 pm: Rittner Buam – S.G. Cortina Hafro
Referees: MOSCHEN, STEFENELLI, Bedana, Fleischmann. | >> PPV-LIVESTREAM <<
For S.G. Cortina Hafro, which recently signed Mikko Vainonen from HC Orli Znojmo, the new year starts at the Rittner Buam. Both teams are tied in the standings, holding at 19 points, with the "Buam" having played two games more. Cortina turned the lone season duel between these two teams so far in overtime, eventually winning 2:1. Cortina has always scored in the last five games with Ritten, winning four of them. While the former AHL champion has won its last three home games, Cortina has been defeated in each of its last three road games. The duel is also of high importance for the Italian championship: With a point win, Ritten is definitely qualified for the semifinals.

Wed, 06.01.2021, 6.00 pm: Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan – SHC Fassa Falcons
Referees: GIACOMOZZI F., LEGA, Cristeli, Piras. | >> PPV-LIVESTREAM <<
"Back-to-back" meet each the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan and the SHC Fassa Falcons. The two teams already faced each other on Monday in Fassa, when the "Broncos" celebrated a 4:3 victory after shootout. It was the eighth victory of the team from Sterzing against the "Falcons" in the Alps Hockey League. Fassa, which recently celebrated three road wins in a row, is playing for its first victory in Sterzing in almost ten years: Fassa got its last road win against WSV on October 8th, 2011, and in between it suffered 17 defeats across competitions. In the standings the two teams are in the "lower half", Fassa in tenth place has 19 points, the "Broncos" are in 14th place with 15 points with four games more.

  • H2H AHL WSV – FAS 8:1

Wed, 06.01.2021, 7.00 pm: Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey – HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice
Referees: LAZZERI, PINIE, Slaviero, Weiss. | >> PPV-LIVESTREAM <<
The seventh-placed Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey and the eighth-placed HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice will face off in a duel between two neighbors in standings. Five points separate the two teams, but a comparison is hardly possible due to the fact that the Italians (12) have played twice as many games. For the Slovenians, it is the first AHL game after exactly one month. Jesenice showed good hockey, winning five of its six games in the "home-and-away" round. Asiago, which still has to play without Davide Dal Sasso and Marek Vankus, suffered a setback against the league leaders on Monday, but the league's best powerplay team with 29.8% is without defeat at home for four games and has received an average of only 1,5 goals. Jesenice has always scored against Asiago in the last three duels.

  • H2H AHL ASH – JES 11:10

Pustertal has always scored on the road in the last four games, winning three of them. The two teams meet for the first time this season, the last duel between the two teams so far was won by the "Adler" with 3:2 after shootout. In ten duels against each other, the "Wolves", who currently lead the penalty killing with 90.3%, have always scored.

Referees: BENVEGNU, EGGER, De Zordo, Montovani. | >> PPV-LIVESTREAM <<
Wednesday’s gameday will be completed with the duel between HC Gherdeina valgardena.it and HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana. At the end of October, on the first gameday of the "Home-and-Away" round, this duel took place for the first time, as the reigning champions won 6:3. For the Slovenians, it was the fourth consecutive victory over the South Tyroleans, which only recorded a success over the "Dragons" on September 2nd, 2018 (4:3). Val Gardena put an end to its negative series on home ice at the start of the new year after six defeats in a row, but Ljubljana also had to admit defeat twice on the road recently. In the standings, the Slovenians, who rank among the top-5 league-wide in both PP and PK, are in second place. With three games less, they are six points behind leader PUS. Val Gardena, which has the second-best PP in the league (25.7%), is in ninth place.
