Jesenice opens round 16 with road win

HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice opened round 16 with getting a 5:3 road win against EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau. A brace of Miha Brus gave the Slovenian side the second consecutive road win and the third win against the Austrians in a row. Lustenau suffered its first defeat after regular time in the current season. Round 16 continues Wednesday with two games.

After almost nine minutes played forward Philippe Paradies put Jesenice ahead during a powerplay situation. Not even two minutes later “stickers” second best scorer Christopher D’Alvise tied it up for the hosts. By return Miha Brus restored Jesenice’s lead with his first goal of the night. Despite getting two penalties later in the first, Lustenau’s Philipp Koczera equalized the score again. In the middle frame the guests had the better of the play and captured the lead again while Brus added his second. Blaz Tomazevic made it a two-goal game early in the third. The hosts fought back, while Adis Alagic capitalized in a powerplay. Soon later, Nik Pem rebuilt the two goal difference and rounded off the score, because the Austrian side could not use an other powerplay for coming close.
