HDD Jesenice celebrated their second straight win on Wednesday night, narrowing the gap toward the middle of the standings. EC Bregenzerwald, meanwhile, suffered their third consecutive defeat and slipped further away from the top five, though they still hold an eight-point cushion over the Slovenians. The hosts in Dornbirn had the better start and opened the scoring at 1:0 in the ninth minute. Jesenice, however, turned the game around by the 24th minute to take a 2:1 lead. Roberts Lipsbergs scored his 105th career goal for EC Bregenzerwald to tie the game, surpassing Christian Ban’s previous franchise record. Energized by that milestone, the hosts reclaimed the lead later in the second period. Jesenice equalized again in the final frame and ultimately decided the contest in the shootout.
