More than 2,600 fans did not want to miss the first final game of Zell am See in the history of the Alps Hockey League. The home side started the game strongly and created several chances right from the start, but it was the visitors who scored the first goal in the 15th minute through Jack Lyons. They went into the first period break with a 1:0 lead.

Just two minutes after the restart, Jesenice increased the lead to 2:0 through Luc Slivnik, with Jasa Jenko providing the primary assist for both goals. Both teams then had several chances, but the goalkeepers put in strong performances. It took until the 50th minute before Zan Us in the Jesenice goal was beaten for the first time. Center Robin Johannson reduced the deficit for the home side.

In the end, Us saved 24 of 25 shots on goal, while Max Zimmermann saved 22 of 24 shots. When Jesenice scored their third goal, EKZ goalkeeper Zimmermann was no longer in goal - the home side took full risk and wanted to force an equalizer in a six-on-four. But Luc Slivnik made everything clear with an empty-net goal and sealed Zell am See's first defeat in the current playoffs. The final series continues on Tuesday in Jesenice.
