FBI VEU Feldkirch - HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice 3:6
20 years after winning the European Hockey League Feldkirch played in the jerseys of 1998. The hosts, with Marcel Witting back in the lineup, got off a bad start, thugh, when Erik Svetina opened the scoring for Jesenice after only two and a half minutes. It was the first period's lone goal. The second middle frame was a mere 32 seconds old when Dylan Stanley tied it at one but only three minutes later Gasper Glavic restored the guest's lead on power play. At the halfway point of the game Blaz Tomazevic added another goal with a man advantage. It looked like the decision was made when Adis Alagic even scored a fourth in the final minute of the second while being shorthanded. However, Feldkirch netted an early goal once again by Chriistoph Draschkowitz with 19 seconds into the third. Jesenice controlled the game, though, and Jaka Sturm restored the three-goal lead after 49 minutes. Despite Martin Mairitsch scoring one more for Feldkirch, the visitors had the final say: Luka Kalan rounded off the scoring with an empty netter for a 6:3 away win and a playoff spot.

Red Bull Hockey Juniors - HC Pustertal Wolves 4:1
Both teams missed several players. While the Juniors were without Witting, Lahoda (both injured) as well as Dario Winkler (EBEL team), Pustertal missed Johansson (ill), Pance (injured), Erlacher (not ready yet) and new arrival Jacques. It was a fast-paced game right from the beginning with Christof Wappis making the breakthrough with a power play goal after six minutes. Nick Bruneteau (14') tied it but the hosts were very efficient with Maximilian Egger litting the lamp on power play for a 2:1 score after 20 minutes. Nico Strodel made it a two-goal game early in the second and an open exchange of blows followed. The wolves also had some good opportunities but Juniors goalie Daniel Fießinger had some great stops. The visitors tried hard to bounce back in the third but could not beat the home defense. At the other end Nik Postel found the back of the net after 53 minutes for a 4:1 final result.
