Jesenice tries to end Pustertal's winning streak

On Tuesday six Alps Hockey League games will be played. Jesenice travels to Pustertal to face the still unbeaten leader. While persecutor HK SZ Olimpija want to extend their own winning streak, Asiago hits the road for Fassa. Before the game, the champions and its head coach Scott Beattie have terminated the cooperation contract by mutual agreement.

After losing six sucessive derby defeats, Olimpija beat their local rivals from Jesenice last weekend once again. Ljubljana moved up to second place thanks to eight wins in a row. They won all five home games with only conceding five goals against in these games. Both Olimpija goalies Tilen Spreitzer and Zan Us are among the top 3 at the moment. The starter in the game against Sterzing will get some work as the Broncos Brandon McNally (25 points) and Kyle Just (22) lead the league's scoring charts. Sterzing lost the last two road games, though.

Zell am See (13th place) or Bregenzerwald (12th)? One team will end their losing streak of two resp. three games on Tuesday. Last weekend both at least earned one point. The two teams try to keep pace with 12th placed Gherdeina. While Zell am See won three of five home games, ECB only got four points out of seven away matches. Additionally, the Vorarlberg side has been struggling with their PP: they played 52 times with a man advantage but only scored six goals (11,5%). On the contrary the hosts scored three shorthanded goals.

Fassa is waiting for a win for six games, losing the last three by only one goal. On Saturday they had a 3:0 lead in Milano but let the game slip away. Now Asiago comes to town but also the champions have had some turbulent days. The yellow-reds lost the last two games and in addition to that the club and its head coach Scott Beattie have terminated the cooperation contractafter only three games by mutual agreement due to personal reasons. Nicola Tessari will be the coach for the Fassa game. Asiago has won all four AHL meetings with the falcons.

With eleven successive wins at the beginning of the season Pustertal has already set a new AHL record. For the only third time the Brunico team was trailing in Klagenfurt on Sturday but earned a well-deserved 7:2 victory in the end. Now they are facing Jesenice, a team that has won the last three meeting with the wolves. The Slovenes lost the last two league games, though, and dropped to 7th place. Jesenice has the third best offensive available with Tadej Cimzar leading plus/minus charts at +15.

After two wins in a row Gherdeina's upward trend was stopped by Feldkirch lately. The fury ranks 12th with a three-point deficit to the places 9 to 11. Now EC-KAC II comes to town - Gherdeina won the last two with the young Austrians. In both games Gabriel Vinatzer scored one goal each. Klagenfurt suffered nine defeats in a row after ebating Milano on game day 2. The Carinthinas, with 8.1 goals on average their games are always a spectacle, are still without points on the road this season.

Ritten and Milano have been struggling at the beginning of the season but both had a sense of achievement last weekend. The league's new arrival came back from a 3:0 deficit against Fassa to grab their second win of the season and 9th-placed Ritten celebrated their second successive AHL win in a row. Lately Milano signed Riley Brace who scored 132 points in 69 games during the last two seasons and the new arrival already had one goal and one assist against the falcons. It's the second meeting this season as Ritten beat Milano in the Italian Supercup 5:4 after overtime.
