HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice won the derby against HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana with 3:2 after shootout. In the first win of the season for the second-placed team over the league leader, attacker Zan Jezovsek was man of the match. The 23-year-old scored both goals in regular playing time for JES. He was also the only player to score in the shootout. For Ljubljana, a nine-game winning streak came to an end. In the second game of the day, S.G. Cortina Hafro beat the EHC Lustenau by a razor-thin margin and moved up to the fifth place in the standings.

Three contract extensions were announced by the Rittner Buam on Tuesday. The key players Simon Kostner, Andreas Lutz and MacGregor Sharp will continue to play for the Blue Reds in the season 2021/22.

In the fourth AHL duel of the season with HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana, HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice celebrated its first win. The second in the table beat the leader with 3:2 after a shootout. Man of the match was Zan Jezovsek, who scored both goals in regular playing time for Jesenice. In addition, the 23-years-old was the only player to score in the shootout. After the first period, the hosts from Jesenice led with 1:0. In the middle period, Ljubljana was able to turn the game around in the meantime. Marc-Olivier Vallerand (33.) and Tadej Cimzar (35.) got on the scoresheet. Five minutes before the end of the second period, JES equalized. No further goals were scored in the final period, but the "Dragons" were the decision much closer, especially in the final minutes. The overtime ended without any big scoring chances, which is why the "derby" had to be decided in the shootout for the first time after six AHL duels, in which Zan Jezovsek was the only player who scored. In the standings HKO is still clearly on top. With 77 points they are nine points ahead of JES. For Ljubljana, an impressive nine-game winning streak came to an end.

Narrow home win of Cortina against Lustenau
In the second game of the day, Hafro Cortina Hockey celebrated a narrow 4:3 home win against the EHC Lustenau. The decisive goal was scored only 143 seconds before the end of the game. The hosts already led with 2:0 after twelve minutes of play, but the guests from Lustenau were able to shorten the score in the first period and equalize to 2:2 right at the beginning oft he second period. Both teams then scored once more in the second period. In the final period, there were few scoring chances on both sides, but just before the end of the game, the fifth-placed team from Cortina managed to score the game-winning goal. The 21-years-old Davide Faloppa scored his second goal of the season after an assist from Andrea Moser. While SGC celebrated its fourth win out of the last five games, the EHC conceded its third defeat in a row. With eight points behind fourth place, Cortina keeps the minimal chance of the Playoff qualification alive. Lustenau, on the other hand, is seventh in the standings and will definitely have to play in the Pre-Playoffs.

Ritten extended with three key players for season 2021/22
Three contract extensions were announced by the Rittner Buam on Tuesday. The key players Simon Kostner, Andreas Lutz and MacGregor Sharp will continue to play for Ritten in the season 2021/22. For attacker Kostner it will already be the eighth consecutive season with the AHL Champion of 2017.
