EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV will play against the end of the season for the second time on Monday. On Saturday, the Carinthians recorded their first win in the quarter-final series against HCB Südtirol Alperia after three previous defeats. Jean-Philippe Lamoureux, who recorded 30 saves, played a big part in this. This game also saw the 39-year-old record the most minutes played by any goalie in the current win2day ICE Hockey League season.

Jean-Philippe Lamoureux is leading the goalies in time on ice. With the 6:1 home win over Bolzano, he has already spent 2796 minutes - over 46 hours - in goal for the eagles this season, replacing Innsbruck's Evan Buitenhuis at the top of this list.

Since Lamoureux moved from North America to Ljubljana in 2011, the American has been one of the defining players in the win2day ICE Hockey League. With 624 games, he has played the most games of any goalie since the league was newly founded. Of the active netminders, his team-mate and VSV back-up René Swette has the second most (327). In his 13 league seasons, Lamoureux has always made the playoffs with his clubs - Ljubljana, Vienna, Salzburg and Villach - and was even voted Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2019/20. Across all games, Lamoureux has a .922 save percentage - only Sebastian Dahm (.928) and Atte Tolvanen (.926) have better figures among the active goalies.

Lamoureux also in the VSV goal in 2024/25
Whether VSV's season comes to an end in Bolzano on Monday or the series moves to Carinthia once again can be followed in the livestream (7.45 pm on live.ice.hockey). One thing is certain, however: at 39, the oldest player in the league will continue to be in the Villach goal in the coming season - he only extended his contract in January. "Playing until the age of 40 was a lifelong goal of mine. Not just to play, but to be one of the best goalkeepers in the league. I'm grateful that I can still do that for VSV. This club gave me the chance to become number 1 early in my career and I want to give my last saves to the city and the fans who have supported me for so many seasons," said Lamoureux.
