The Red Bull Hockey Juniors started their preseason at the Summer Heat Challenge'23 in Tampere/Finland. In their first game, they beat the Lahden Pelicans 1:0, with Philipp Krening providing the decisive goal.

Cortina was defeated at home by the Oswego State Lakers in its preseason opener. The university team from the US state of New York won 5:2 at the end of their European trip. For the AHL runner-up, who last announced the contract extension with winger Riccardo Lacedelli, the preseason continues on Friday. Cortina will host HC Gherdeina in the opening game of the Trofeo Ladino.

On Saturday, the Steel Wings LINZ AG and HK RST Pellet Celje will face each other. The Slovenians will thus play their first game ahead of their premiere season in the Alps Hockey League. As the club was hit hard by the floods in Slovenia, the preseason will take place under difficult conditions.
