Seven national meetings are on the schedule in Alps Hockey League on Saturday. Also on Sunday is fight for points at Salzburg. Plus: Suspension for Kamil Brabenec (HCN) and new players at Lustenau and Bregenzerwald.

Sat, 13.01.2018: HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice – HDD SZ Olimpija (18:00)

Already for the sixth time this season the Slovenian derby HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice (3) vs. HDD SZ Olimpija (5.) is on the schedule in Alps Hockey League on Saturday. The last four meetings were won by the road-team, just one week ago the „Red Steelers“ were successful at Hala Tivoli - 6:2. In the year 2018 the Steel Citizens are still unbeaten, Jesenice won all three games and scored totally 16 goals, while receiving just four goals. Both teams are on a Playoff spot right now: The „Steelers“ are ranked on place 3 and Olimpija is ranked on place 5. The Dragons were the last team, who were able to beat the „Red Steelers“ end of December 2017 (at home).
 
Sat, 13.01.2018: HC Neumarkt RIWEGA – HC Gherdeina valgardena.it (19:00)
Referees: LEGA, WALLNER, Basso, Rinker.
Already for the fifth time this season HC Neumarkt RIWEGA (14.) and HC Gherdeina valgardena.it (15.) will face each other on Saturday. Both teams could celebrate their last win against each other around new year at home. Since then both Italian clubs couldn‘t collect points anymore. Neumarkt vs. Gherdeina is also the meeting of two neighbours in the standing: The „wild-geese“ are ranked on place 15 and the „Furies“ are ranked on place 14.
Kamil Brabenec of HC Neumarkt RIWEGA got suspended by DOPS for Crosschecking and Interference for totally three games.
 
Sat, 13.01.2018: Red Bull Hockey Juniors – EC-KAC II (19:15)

The Red Bull Hockey Juniors welcome bottom club EC-KAC II with a perfect season-record on Saturday: The Mozart Citizens won so far all three season-meetings, inter alia just one week ago at Klagenfurt with 3:2. For Salzburg it is the first out of two games within 23 hours. On Sunday the Mozart Citizens, who received so far the fewest number of goals (57), will welcome HK SZ Olimpija.
 
Sat, 13.01.2018: WSV Sterzing Broncos Weihenstephan – Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 1935 (19:30)

Already for the sixth time this season WSV Sterzing Broncos Weihenstephan (7.) and Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 1935 (2) will meet on Saturday at Sterzing. The last four clashes were won by the „Yellow-Reds“, inter alia the Vice-Champion was successful just ten days ago at Sterzing 6:5/OT. Asiago is the team of the hour: The „Yellow-Reds“ won their last eleven games. But take attention: The Broncos on the other side were on Fire lately: The seventh placed club beat Gherdeina (5:1) and Neumarkt (6:4) in the last two rounds and scored eleven goals in 120 minutes.
 
Sat, 13.01.2018: FBI VEU Feldkirch – EC „Die Adler“ Stadtwerke Kitzbühel (19:30)

FBI VEU Feldkirch and EC „Die Adler“ Stadtwerke Kitzbühel had a different start into the year 2018: The Vorarlberger won both games 2018 with one goal difference, while the Tyroleans lost their three games against Austrian clubs by one goal difference. Besides Feldkirch played strong at home in the last weeks: The Vorarlberger, who are the best Austrian team ranked on place 6, won their last seven home-games and received just ten goals since the beginning of November. The Tyroleans on the other side could not convince on the road so far: The „Eagles“ are the only team in Alps Hockey League without a road-win 2017/18, they lost all 14 road-games. Besides Feldkirch left the ice as the winner in the last five meetings with Kitzbühel.
 
Sat, 13.01.2018: EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau – EC Bregenzerwald (19:30)

EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau (11.) and EC Bregenzerwald (8.) boosted their roster before the „Vorarlberg-derby“. New at Lustenau are defenseman Robin Axbom (SWE) and young goalie Timo Waldherr (AUT). Back at EC Bregenzerwald is Forward Kevin Schettina (AUT), who played so far this season for EC-KAC II. Both teams were successful against EC „Die Adler“ Stadtwerke Kitzbühel in their last game and need three points on Saturday in the fight for a Playoff spot. The „Wälder“ won the last five clashes and always scored exactly five goals.
 
Sat, 13.01.2018: HC Pustertal Wolves – Sportivi Ghiaccio Cortina Hafro (Bruneck, 20:00)
Referees: LESNIAK, STRASSER, Bergant, Kalb.
Already for the fifth time 2017/18 HC Pustertal Wölfe (5.) and Sportivi Ghiacchio Cortina Hafro (9.) will face each other at Bruneck on Saturday. The first two clashes ended with wins for Cortina and lately the wolves had the better end twice. The two teams showed different faces lately: Cortina lost their last five matches and dropped out of the Top 8. Bruneck on the other side played strong at home in the past weeks: The wolves won their last nine home-games since the beginning of November. But last round HCPs good run ended after six wins in a row at Ritten. The Wolves lost there 0:3.
 
Sun, 14.01.2018: Red Bull Hockey Juniors – HK SZ Olimpija (17:30)

Red Bull Hockey Juniors and HK SZ Olimpija will make their second game within 23 hours on Sunday at Salzburg. The Mozart Citizens welcome before on Saturday EC-KAC II and the Slovenes are guest at Jesenice. The first two season-clashes around new year ended with home-wins for Olimpija (4:1) and RBJ (2:1/SO).
