The EC-KAC will compete against the best teams in Europe for the fifth time in the upcoming CHL campaign. In the 2021/22 season, Klagenfurt took part in Europe's greatest ice hockey competition for the last time to date. The "Red Jackets" won five out of six games in the group stage and sensationally beat Leksands IF 4:0 in the first leg of the round of 16 in front of their home crowd. However, with an extremely thin line-up, the KAC lost the second leg in Sweden 1:8 and were eliminated from the competition.

Klagenfurt were also successful off the ice, winning the CHL Marketing Award this season. The Carinthians were honoured for the best CHL campaign of all 32 clubs.

Genève-Servette and Skellefteå face each other in the final
The final of the current CHL season will take place on Tuesday 20 February. In the clash between Genève-Servette and Skellefteå AIK, it is already clear that there will be a new champion. This could even come from Switzerland for the first time. Of the eight editions so far, the title has gone to Sweden six times, with a Finnish team taking the crown twice. The players can look forward to a very atmospheric setting, as the final was completely sold out in just three minutes. Genève-Servette is still unbeaten at home in the current CHL season.

HC TIWAG Innsbruck met both finalists on their debut in the European premier class. On the first matchday, the Tyroleans celebrated a magnificent 5:2 home win against the Swiss at the end of August. In October, Skellefteå won 4:2 in Innsbruck.
