EC-KAC got off to the better start in the 343rd Carinthian derby and took the lead already in the fourth minute. The first goal was scored by Lukas Haudum, who beat VSV goalie JP Lamoureux from sharp angle. The visitors then became stronger and were the better team at the latest in the course of the middle period. But the home side kept a clean sheet for a long time, which only changed in the 42nd minute when Chris Collins scored the equaliser with a volley from close range. Only two minutes later, the eagles even turned the derby in their favour, Robert Sabolic gave KAC goalkeeper Sebastian Dahm no chance. Villach had the momentum, but KAC fought back, driven by the fans in the sold-out Heidi Horten Arena. Manuel Ganahl tied the game at two Although both sides still had chances, the result remained that way. After a goalless overtime, Nick Petersen provided the decision. The KAC thus retained the upper hand against VSV at home for the 16th time in a row.

Salzburg now first chaser of Bolzano

HCB Südtirol Alperia defended their top spot in the win2day ICE Hockey League with a 4:1 win in Graz. In contrast to past games, where the Merkur Stadion was always a hot spot for the Bolzano team, the South Tyroleans clearly prevailed this time. The Styrians took the lead through Granholm, but the visitors really turned up the heat in the middle period. Goals by Mitch Hults (2), Frigo and McClure set the course for victory.

EC Red Bull Salzburg is now the first team to follow Bolzano. The reigning champions won their home game against Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 3:1, but had to work hard for the victory despite their dominant play. It was not until the final period that the home side secured a deserved victory with two quick goals from Tyler Lewington and Peter Schneider, while Tim Harnisch had added his name to the scoresheet in the opening period. It was the Red Bulls' third win in a row.

Féhérvar and Pustertal celebrate derby wins
The spusu Vienna Capitals' five-game winning streak came to an end in the "Eastern derby" in Szekesféhérvar. Niklas Würschl gave the Viennese the lead with his first goal in the 12th minute, and this advantage lasted well into the third period. Istvan Bartalis equalised in the 53rd minute. The decision finally had to be made in the shootout, where Janos Hari secured the extra point for the home side.

HC Pustertal recorded a brilliant victory in the Tyrolean derby against HC TIWAG Innsbruck. The guests took the lead twice, but Marco Sanna's equaliser in the 26th minute heralded a storming run by the home side. The South Tyroleans pulled away to 5:2 by the end of the middle period, and in the end they celebrated a clear 8:3 victory - in which eight different Pustertal players were on the scoresheet.

Pioneers win away from home for the first time

The BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg won away from home for the first time in their fifth attempt. The league newcomers won 3:2 at Steinbach Black Wings Linz. Although the Upper Austrians equalised an early 2:0 of the guests late in the middle period, the Pioneers had the better end this time. While goalie Alex Caffi made several saves, Tyler Sanhdu scored two minutes before the end of regulation time for the away win.
