EC-KAC vs. EC Red Bull Salzburg
After winning 11 of their last 14 games, KAC continues their upward trend and now sits third in the standings. Their power play has improved significantly, and they have won three straight home games. Salzburg, however, has experienced an up-and-down season: after four consecutive defeats, the Bulls bounced back with two home victories. A shutout win against Linz on Friday brought them back into the Top 6. Despite the strong form of newcomer Michael Raffl (18 points in 16 games), the Red Bulls are struggling on the power play and producing fewer goals overall.

This matchup marks the second meeting of last season’s finalists. Historically, Salzburg dominates with 101 wins to KAC’s 81, although Klagenfurt has had the upper hand in its own arena. The recent trend clearly favors Salzburg, having won the last six encounters while conceding only three goals. The Red Bulls also took the season opener 4–1 at home.

All eyes will be on Manny Viveiros’ return: after years as a player, coach, and manager in Klagenfurt, he now visits his former club for the first time since 2014 as Salzburg’s head coach.

Steinbach Black Wings Linz vs. Olimpija Ljubljana
Following a 0–4 loss in Salzburg, Linz faces another tough task against Olimpija Ljubljana. The Slovenian side reclaimed first place on Friday with an away win in Villach and continues to impress, especially on the power play (33.33 %). With Meyer and Brennan, they also boast the league’s two top scorers. Ljubljana won the first meeting 8–4, but Linz hopes to leverage its home advantage: the Black Wings haven’t lost to Olimpija at the Linz AG Eisarena since autumn 2021 and are riding a six-game home winning streak.

HC Falkensteiner Pustertal vs. HC TIWAG Innsbruck – Die Haie
After more than a week’s break, HC Pustertal returns to action. The South Tyroleans dropped their last two games but remain just one point behind Ljubljana in second place with one game in hand. HC TIWAG Innsbruck, meanwhile, suffered three narrow losses, missing the chance to close in on the pre-playoff spots. Pustertal has won its last five home games, while Innsbruck has lost four of its last five on the road. The first-season meeting ended in a decisive 8–1 win for Pustertal.

Moser Medical Graz99ers vs. HCB Südtirol Alperia
A thrilling showdown also awaits in Styria, where the Graz99ers host HCB Südtirol Alperia. Philipp Pinter continues as interim head coach, while new coach Dan Lacroix observes from the stands. Both teams are battling for a Top-6 position. Statistically, they are closely matched—Graz holds slight advantages in power play, penalty killing, and shots on goal, whereas Bolzano is more efficient in scoring. Goalies Lagacé (Graz) and Harvey (Bolzano) both rank among the league’s best with a 91.3 % save percentage. The first meeting of the season ended with Graz winning in a shootout on the road.

Hydro Fehérvár AV19 vs. EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV
Hydro Fehérvár AV19 has won three of its last four games, most recently edging out Graz. The Hungarian side currently sits ninth but has climbed back within reach of the Top 6. EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV, on the other hand, saw a three-game winning streak snapped with a narrow loss to leader Ljubljana on Friday and now ranks seventh. With 17 points from nine road games, Villach remains one of the league’s strongest away teams. Fehérvár, however, claimed victory in the season’s first encounter on the road.
