KAC Future Team defeats Young Bulls in overtime

An exciting game took place in the Alps Hockey League on Thursday between the EC-KAC Future Team and the Red Bull Hockey Juniors, which the Future Team won 3:2 in overtime. For the team from Klagenfurt it was the first win in the second game of the season. The Young Bulls conceded their first defeat of the season.

In an even match, the home side from Klagenfurt took a 1:0 lead in the seventh minute of the game through Marcel Witting. But the guests from Salzburg, who were clearly victorious at the season opener with 5:1 in Fassa, answered promptly. First Julius Sumpf equalized in the ninth minute of the game, only another five minutes later the guests even took the lead through Vadim Schreiner. The first period ended with the score of 1:2.

In the second period, the Future Team was challenged and thanks to Maximilian Theirich they managed to score the equalizer. In the following, no further goals were scored in regular playing time, which is why an AHL game went into overtime for the first time this season. In this Luka Gomboc scored the decision in favor of the Future Team. For the 18-year-old it was the third goal in the Alps Hockey League.
