HC Orli Znojmo has beaten spusu Vienna Capitals in Quarterfinal game #2 4:3 at home on Friday and has tied the best-of-seven-series at 1:1 The Red Eagles  started strong, but the frst two goals have been netted by the Austrians. Wall and Nissner scored from the distance – 2:0. But, the Czechs stayed unimpressed: Lattner (18.), who was free in front of the net in a Power Play and Stretch (19.) from near the right post made it 2:2. Vienna flounced better into period 2, but failed to score from a Power Play. But, then, Vause beat Lassila after a solo-effort – 3:2. The Czechs used their chances too and respondes with goals  from Kalus (36.) and Spacek (39.) to earn a 4:3-lead. Each team couldn‘t score in period 3: Znojmo has missed a 5-on-3 Power Play, but got the win and tied the series at 1:1.

EC Red Bull Salzburg has been successful against Fehervar AV19 in Quarterfinal game #2 3:2 after Overtime at home on Friday and tied the best of seven series at 1:1. Gazley gave the Mozart Citizens a 1:0-lead in minute 10. The Austrians took penalties after the re-start and were quickly punished by the guests: Erdely (21./pp) and Luttinen (24./pp) turned the score with two Power Play goals within just 138 seconds. Time was runnning fo rthe Devils, but the Mozart Citizens did not give up and were finally rewarded with the 2:2 scored by VandeVelde in minute 59. The game went into Overtime, where Duncan potted the Game Winner for the Red Bulls after just 140 seconds in a Power Play. Game 3 will already follow in Szekesfehervar on Sunday 17:30.

The Upper Austrians netted two goals within just 111 seconds early in the 2nd period and got a 3:1 lead. But, the 99ers never gave up and were rewarded with two late Power Play goals by King (50.) and Oberkofler (60./EN). The game went to Overtime, which has been decided by Kapstad after just 64 seconds. Game 3 will already follow in Graz on Sunday afternoon.

Each team responded quickly after a goal scored by the opponent. The score was 3:3 after 40 minutes. Then, period after period expired, in which the goalies Smith (HCB) and Haugen (KAC) have given away no goals. The game has finally been decided by Klagenfurt in the fourth overtime! Johannes Bischofberger scored volley from a rebound after 120 minutes and 53 seconds and has finished the longest Playoff game in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga history. Game 3 will already follow  in Klagenfurt on Sunday (17:30).
