The Champions Hockey League semifinal first leg was 33 seconds old when Thomas Raffl had to go to the sin bin. After the guests killed the penalty, they often hit Munich on the forecheck. Halfway through the first Alexander Cijan missed because of Danny auf den Birken, at the other end Steven Michalek had a great save against Hager. The Salzburg netminder also kept a clean sheet in the second thanks to a big save on Button. Late in the period Raffl missed the best chance for the visitors.
