In a game that was evenly contested for long stretches, it took until the 25th minute for Nolan Moyle to give KAC the lead with a clinical finish. The hosts created the better scoring chances afterwards, but Fehérvár also appeared dangerously in front of Sebastian Dahm on several occasions. The game remained open until the closing stages, when Nick Petersen decided it in the 55th minute in favor of the Klagenfurt side. Simeon Schwinger sealed the win with an empty-net goal 62 seconds before the final buzzer in front of a sold-out crowd at Heidi Horten-Arena. Sebastian Dahm stopped all 29 shots he faced to secure his sixth shutout of the season.
