The EC-KAC won the 150th duel against the EC Red Bull Salzburg with 3:2 after shootout. In the west derby, the HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie prevailed. The guests from Tyrol won with 5:4 after overtime at the Dornbirn Bulldogs. In the duel of the capitals, the spusu Vienna Capitals kept the upper hand also in the fifth duel against the iClinic Bratislava Capitals. The EC GRAND Immo VSV defeated the Moser Medical Graz99ers with 8:3, which is why the Styrians slipped to the last place in the standings. The HK SZ Olimpija, on the other hand, is league leader again after a 6:4 home win over the HC Orli Znojmo.

KAC wins against Salzburg
The EC-KAC won the 150th duel against the EC Red Bull Salzburg with 3:2 after shootout. For the Carinthians it was the 71st victory and already the seventh from the last ten duels with the Red Bulls. After a goalless first period, it was Thomas Koch who put the visitors ahead in the 33rd minute with his seventh goal of the season. The veteran deflected a shot of Paul Postma. Only 32 seconds were played in the final period before the hosts equalized through Benjamin Nissner. The 23-years-old also scored two and a half minutes before the end to equalize 2:2. After nine minutes of play in the final period, Matt Fraser put the KAC in the lead again. It was already the seventh goal of the season for the Canadian. The 31-years-old was also the only player in the shootout to convert his penalty.

Innsbruck wins west derby
The HC TIWAG Innsbruck celebrated a 5:4 win after overtime in the west derby. It was the fourth derby win for the Tyroleans in Dornbirn from the past five games. Dornbirn lost for the first time after three wins in a row. However, they remain in a very good third place in the table. Innsbruck, which won all of its last three away games, went into the second period with a 2:0 lead. In this period, however, the hosts promptly struck back. Only 37 seconds after the restart, Simeon Schwinger scored to make it 1:2. Another nine minutes later, Davis Vandane scored the equalizer. But again only 33 seconds later Alex Dostie scored for the visitors to take the lead again. Both teams then scored once more in the second period. So it went into the final period with a 4:3 for HCI, in which Stefan Häussle shot the DEC into overtime. In this it took 92 seconds before Canadian Tim McGauley scored the decision in favor of the guests.

Vienna Capitals win "Duel of the Capitals"
The spusu Vienna Capitals won the "Duel of the Capitals" against the iClinic Bratislava Capitals with 5:1 and thus also won the fifth duel against the Slovaks. The second win of the season brought the Viennese from last place in the table to the eleventh. The Bratislava Capitals are immediately ahead in tenth place. With a brace, US-American Joel Lowry was the man of the match, scoring for the first time in his fourth game for the federal capitals. The 29-years-old forward scored the goals to make it 1:0 (10.) and 2:1 (29.). Niki Hartl (36.), Patrick Antal (51.) and Charlie Dodero (55.) provided the other goals for the hosts.

Villach defeats 99ers
The EC GRAND Immo VSV celebrated a clear victory at home. The team from Villach gave the Moser Medical Graz99ers no chance (8:3). In the meantime the "Adler" were already with 5:1 and with 7:2 in the lead. Scott Kosmachuk and Renars Krasstenbergs scored twice. For the 99ers it was already the sixth away defeat in a row. In the standings, the Styrians are only at the bottom with nine points. It was the eighth defeat in the tenth game of the season. Villach has 14 points and is ninth in the table.

Ljubljana new league leader
The HC Orli Znojmo also has an away weakness. The Czechs lost 4:6 at the HK SZ Olimpija, their fourth defeat in their fifth away game. Ljubljana was comfortably ahead with 5:1 until six and a half minutes before the end of the game. Then the visitors scored three quick goals to make the game exciting again. Finally, Nik Simsic decided the game in favor of HKO with 29 seconds left. For the 24-years-old it was already the third goal of the evening and the sixth of the season. The seventh win of the season also took the Slovenians back on the top of the table. The lead over second-placed Fehérvár is two points. The Hungarians lost already on Saturday in Bolzano with 3:4.
