Rappold, a native of Styria, is the latest Austrian addition to the Sharks’ roster. After celebrating the AHL title with Zell am See, he now makes the move to Innsbruck. The forward appeared in 37 games last season and played a key role in helping the Eisbären lift the trophy. Prior to his time in Zell, Rappold suited up for the Graz99ers and Steinbach Black Wings Linz in the ICE.

Kilian Rappold:
“I’m really excited to be part of the team. It’s been a great season for me – winning a championship is every player’s dream, and we fought hard to make it happen in Zell, so I’m really proud of that. Even before the season, I had already heard a lot of good things about Innsbruck, and the interest from the club meant a lot to me. I’m looking forward to taking on a new role here and doing everything I can to help the team achieve its goals. Personally, I want to establish myself with the Sharks, continue to grow, and contribute to reaching the playoffs – and building from there.”

Salzburg extends with goalie duo
Atte Tolvanen has extended his contract with EC Red Bull Salzburg. With his strong performance, he laid the foundation for the later successes and was once again a reliable support for his team not only in the regular season, but above all in the playoffs. The .958 save percentage in the post-season is an international record. With an average of just 1.23 goals against, Tolvanen also conceded the fewest goals of all goalies in the playoffs - he was also voted playoff MVP. The reigning champions also extended the contract with David Kickert. In his appearances, he showed his 12 years of league experience.
