Following last weekend’s 0–2 loss against Unterland, the Tyroleans earned their revenge at Sportpark Kitzbühel – albeit only after overtime.

The visitors from South Tyrol had the better start. In the 14th minute, Moritz Kaufmann capitalized on a power play to give the Cavaliers a 1–0 lead. The response from the home side came quickly, however, as Jakob Lippitsch equalized just one minute later to make it 1–1.

From that point on, both goaltenders took center stage. Despite numerous chances at both ends – with Kitzbühel registering significantly more shots on goal – the score remained tied at 1–1 after regulation.

The game-winner came in overtime: once again it was Jakob Lippitsch who struck in the 64th minute, netting the decisive 2–1 goal.

With this victory, the Adler reduced the gap to league leaders Cortina and strengthened their position in Qualification Round A.
