Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel also prevailed in the derby against EK Die Zeller Eisbären to maintain their lead at the top of the table. In the 5:2 home win against the team from Pinzgau, it took until the 30th minute before the home side took the lead through Christopher Schutz. Zell am See equalized just a few minutes later, but Kitzbühel was unimpressed in front of 1.081 fans and made it 2:1 in the 35th minute. After that, it remained a duel at eye level, which was decided in the 56th minute by Lukas Waschnig. Just eight seconds later, Jayson Ren made it 4:1 for the “Eagles”. In the end Kitzbühel won 5:2, meaning the “Polar Bears” suffered their second defeat in their third game. Kitzbühel, on the other hand, are the only team with maximum points, having already scored 18 goals and conceded just four.

Sisak with a commanding win on home debut
League newcomer KHL Sisak played their first home game in the Alps Hockey League on Saturday and were immediately convincing. In front of 500 fans at the Ledena dvorana Zibel, the Croatian team won 7:1 against HC Gherdeina valgardena.it. Sisak already led 3:0 after the first period, with Brad McGowan scoring Val Gardena's only goal to make it 1:4 for the visitors (44.), who had to concede three more goals in the final period. Vlastimil Dostalek and Bruno Idzan scored twice for Sisak. With four points from two games, the Croatians are seventh in the table, while Val Gardena are still waiting for their first point and have already conceded 17 goals in three games.

Ritten turns the game against Unterland around
The Rittner Buam SkyAlps narrowly won 5:4/OT against the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers, despite trailing 3:0 after just ten minutes. The visitors from Neumarkt then pulled away again, initially leading 4:2 and 4:3 until 14 seconds before the end of the third period, but then Marco Insam scored in a powerplay to tie the game. Insam also scored in the 32nd minute to make it 3:4. In overtime, it only took 15 seconds before Simon Kostner scored the decider. It was Ritten's second win in their third game of the season, while Unterland suffered their third defeat. They also let a 3:0 lead slip away against Merano on Thursday and were beaten in overtime too.

In the second duel between two South Tyrolean teams, HC Meran/o Pircher won 3:1 against the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan. Merano is still without a defeat, but the win against Vipiteno was the first victory after regulation. The Broncos, on the other hand, were beaten for the first time this season. In the first period, the visitors took the lead in the eleventh minute, but Merano replied shortly before the end of the first period while short-handed. In the second period, HCM took the lead in the 35th minute in the powerplay. Daniel Gellon was the goal scorer. The forward also scored 70 seconds before the end of the game to make it 3:1.

Jesenice narrowly defeats Bregenzerwald again
SIJ Acroni Jesenice and EC Bregenzerwald played an exciting game at eye level, which was once again only decided in overtime. The two teams had already faced each other in Vorarlberg at the start of the season. The opening game was only decided in Jesenice's favor in a shootout, but this time the Slovenians prevailed in overtime. Erik Svetina redeemed the home side in the 62nd minute with a goal to make it 5:4/OT. Svetina also scored the decisive penalty last week. The fact that the game went into overtime at all was because of Patrick Kookmaa, who scored for Bregenzerwald one second before the end of the third period in the powerplay to equalize the score to 4:4.

The second Slovenian team, HK RST Pellet Celje, was also in action at home, but unlike Jesenice, they were narrowly beaten. The 2:3 defeat against Red Bull Hockey Juniors was Celje's second loss in their second game. For the Juniors, it was their second win in their fourth game. The game was tied 2:2 until eight minutes before the end, before Paul Vinzens scored the winner in favor of the guests from Salzburg. Celje will continue tomorrow, Sunday, with a home game against Bregenzerwald.
