Thomas Raffl tied it at one on a breakaway and a few minutes later Raymond turned it around. At the halfway point of the game Sondre Olden made it 2:2 on power play, though. It was a "good goal" call by the refs after video review. It was a hard-fought game in the third with Vienna having the better end. With five minutes to go playoff top scorer Chris DeSousa fired home a rebound for the game winner. In Salzburg's final push they pulled their goalie and Peter Schneider made it safe with an empty netter.

The fans in Graz had to wait long for a goal but they saw the fourth longest game in league history. The hosts had the better of the play early but Klagenfurt played a solid defense with goalie Lars Haugen making a couple of good saves. In the middle frame the visitors became stronger but could not score either. Nothing changed in the third and with no goals the game headed into endless overtime - for the first time there was no goal scored in regulation in a playoff game. KAC came close to decide it in the first extra session but they only hit the post. At the other end Graz also had a good chance to make it but it remained goalless after 80 minutes. Finally KAC forward Siim Liivik broke the spell in the 97th minute to take the series lead for Klagenfurt.
