The Lakers Carinthia rebounded just 24 hours after a tough loss to the Sabres, picking up a victory against the KSV Highlanders in the placement round. Meanwhile, the Graz99ers Huskies got off to a flying start in the win2day AWHL qualification round, defeating the debuting Villach Lady Hawks.

In the EWHL, the EVB Eagles South Tyrol secured a 4-1 win in their second game in Bratislava.

Lakers Carinthia respond after painful opening loss
Saturday’s opener in the win2day AWHL placement round was a rough one for the Lakers Carinthia, as they suffered a 0-5 defeat. However, just a day later, the team showed a significant turnaround, edging out the KSV Highlanders 2-1. Ida Normark opened the scoring on a power play in the first period. After a scoreless second period, the Highlanders tied it up, but Christina Schussen sealed the win with the game-winning goal.

Graz99ers Huskies spoil Lady Hawks’ debut
The Graz99ers Huskies dampened the Villach Lady Hawks’ win2day AWHL debut with a dominant performance. The Graz squad came out firing, jumping to a 2-0 lead within the first eight minutes. Although Liga Miljone got the Lady Hawks on the board, the Huskies didn’t back down, extending their lead to 5-1 by the 24th minute. Tamara Grascher was on fire, notching a hat trick by then. The Lady Hawks fought back to close the gap to 3-5 but eventually fell 3-6.

EWHL: Eagles South Tyrol head home from Bratislava with three points
After a narrow 4-5 loss to MAC Budapest the day before, the Eagles South Tyrol bounced back with a commanding 4-1 win over Budapest Jegkorong Akademia. Justine Reyes had a standout game, tallying two goals and an assist.
