After twelve wins in a row HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice lost for the first time. At S.G. Cortina Hafro the Slovenians, who slipped down to third place in the standings, conceded the decisive goal only two seconds before the end of the game. New second in the standings is the HC Pustertal Wölfe, who celebrated the second shutout this week against VEU Feldkirch. The gap to league leader HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana, who were victorious against the Steel Wings Linz with 3:1, is four points. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors surprised at Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey and are only one point behind the Italians in the standings. The EHC Lustenau celebrated their first win after four defeats in a row. Against the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan, the Vorarlberg team won with 3:2 and donated 1000€ to the Broncos, which will be used for the reconstruction of the collapsed ice rink in Sterzing.

First defeat for Jesenice after twelve wins in a row
HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice lost for the first time after twelve wins in a row. The decisive goal in the 1:2 away defeat at S.G. Cortina Hafro was scored only two seconds before the end of the game by league top scorer Mike Cazzola. Through the defeat Jesenice slips to third place in the standings. Cortina, which recorded its third win in a row, is in sixth place in the standings. In an extremely even match, the favorite from Slovenia took the lead in the 16th minute of the game. Cortina equalized in the 34th minute. When extra time was already expected, Cortina was able to end Jesenice's winning run in regular playing time, setting a new club record with twelve wins in a row.

Red Bull Hockey Juniors surprise at Asiago
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors celebrated a surprising 3:2 away win at Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey. Through the win the Young Bulls are only one point behind Asiago. The Italians remain fourth in the standings, followed by RBJ. For ASH, it was their first AHL loss after six wins en suite. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors were last on the ice on Friday evening, losing with 4:1 to the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan. Before that, they celebrated four wins in a row. The hosts had the better start into the second season duel, which were clearly successful with 6:1 in the first season duel. Alexander Gellert scored the lead in the power play (13.). In the middle period, the guests were successful twice, while Asiago scored once. The decision in favor of RBJ was scored by Aljaz Predan (55.). It was the fifth goal for the 20-years-old Slovenian in his 17th season appearance. In the H2H, the Young Bulls managed the third win in the tenth AHL duel.

Victory of Ljubljana against the Steel Wings Linz
League leader HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana celebrated an unchallenged 3:1 home win against the Steel Wings Linz and thus also won the second game of the week against the bottom of the table. Ziga Pance opened the scoring in the third minute of the game. For the captain of the "Dragons" it was the 17th goal of the season. Goal number two was also scored in the first period. The 22-years-old Anej Kujavec scored for the first time this season. With 20 seconds left in the second period, Ales Music made the 3:0. In the final period, HKO slowed down a bit and SWL managed to score. Tobias Steibl scored the consolation goal for the visitors 14 seconds before the end of the game, which meant that they won the last period. For the 21-years-old defender it was not only the first goal of the season, but also the first goal ever in the Alps Hockey League. For the 2019 AHL champion from Slovenia it was the fourth win in a row. In the standings, the lead over the first pursuer, HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice, remains five points.

Lustenau defeats Sterzing and donates 1000€ for the reconstruction of the ice rink
The EHC Lustenau returned to winning ways against the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan. The seventh-placed team in the standings from Vorarlberg narrowly won with 3:2 against the eleventh-placed team from South Tyrol and celebrated the first victory after four defeats in a row. For the Broncos it was the first defeat after three victories. Only on Friday evening, the Broncos celebrated a 4:1 victory over the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. For Lustenau it was the second win in the second duel of the season. Overall, the EHC leads in the H2H with 8:6. After a scoreless first period, Lustenau took the 1:0 lead right at the beginning of the middle period, through Arturs Ozolins (22.). Shortly before the end of the second period, both teams scored once each. In the 49th minute of play, Maximilian Wilfan established a two-goal lead for the EHC, which lasted until three minutes before the end of the game, before Trevor Gooch scored the 2:3 for the Broncos. The guests did not manage to equalize.

With a donation of 1000€ EHC Lustenau supports the Wipptal Broncos Weiehnstephan in the reconstruction of the collapsed ice rink in Sterzing. The check was handed over by EHC President Herbert Oberscheider to the captain of the Broncos, Fabian Hackhofer, before the start of the game.



Fassa wins after overtime

The EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel lost to the SHC Fassa Falcons with 4:3 after overtime and thus also lost the second game of the season against the "Falcons" after overtime. Until 30 seconds before the end of the game the "Eagles" were still in front with 3:2, before the guests managed to equalize through Martin Castlunger. Overall, all three periods ended with 1:1, with Kitzbühel taking the lead in each period. In overtime, Daniel Tedesco scored the game-winning goal after two minutes and 40 seconds. It was the eleventh goal of the season for the 27-years-old Canadian. In the standings, Fassa is 13th in the standings, while Kitzbühel is in 14th place. The gap to the playoff places is already eight points.

Another defeat for Bregenzerwald
The EC Bregenzerwald continued its downside trend and conceded already the sixth defeat from the last seven games. At the Rittner Buam the ECB lost with 6:3. It was the second defeat in the second duel of the season for the team from VorarlbergAt this game Bregenzerwald managed a real dream start. Already after 16 seconds Tuukku Rajamäki scored the lead for ECB. Ritten's answer was not long in coming. Only a little more than three minutes later they managed to equalize. Bregenzerwald managed to take the lead one more time by scoring to make it 2:1. After that, however, the hosts were in control and took the lead both 4:2 and 5:3. Markus Spinell (RIT) was the only player to score twice.

Pustertal again too strong for Feldkirch
In the second match within two days between HC Pustertal Wölfe and VEU Feldkirch, PUS goalkeeper Colin Furlong celebrated another shutout. After a 4:0 away win on Thursday, Pustertal prevailed this time with 3:0. The goalkeeper of the 2019 AHL finalist was able to save all 28 shots on his goal. It took until the 30th minute of play for the new league runners-up to score their first goal before Massimo Carozza scored his first of two goals on the night. While Pustertal celebrated their third AHL win in a row, Feldkirch conceded their eighth loss out of the last nine games. The Vorarlberg team occupies ninth place in the standings, while Pustertal moves up to the second place in the standings, now one point ahead of Jesenice, who were defeated by Cortina.

Val Gardena wins despite a two-goal deficit
An important victory in the fight for the playoffs was celebrated by HC Gherdeina valgardena.it against the EC-KAC II. The Klagenfurt team, which traveled to Val Gardena without the long-term injured Markus Pirmann and Rok Kapel, already led with 2:0 after 37 minutes of play. Only in the third period the hosts were able to add to their tally. Brad McGowan (44.) and Joonas Niemelä (51.) could equalize the score. With the score of 2:2 the regular playing time ended. In overtime, neither team was able to decide the game, so it had to be decided in the shootout, in which Brad McGowan scored the game-winning goal. With the loss, KA2 loses sight of the playoffs more and more. As 15th in the standings, the KA2 are already nine points behind gherdeina, which holds the last playoff spot.
