With 15 points, league leaders Kitzbühel are currently one point ahead of third-placed Red Bull Hockey Juniors. The two teams will meet on Thursday in Kitzbühel. The two teams have already faced each other in Salzburg this season on September 26. On that meeting, Kitzbühel won clearly with 8:1. It was the third success in a row for the “Eagles” over the Juniors. In total, Kitzbühel have only lost one of their six games this season. The Young Bulls have already been in action nine times and have conceded four defeats so far.

The duel between EK Die Zeller Eisbären and S.G. Cortina Hafro sees two teams in different forms against each other. While sixth-placed Zell am See have won their last two games, ninth-placed Cortina have been waiting for a win for the last three games. The “Polar Bears” are still unbeaten in front of their home crowd and lead the home table with eleven points. Cortina have picked up four out of a possible nine points away from home. Last season, Cortina came out on top in three out of four duels with Zell am See.

In Merano, the HC Merano/o Pircher will face the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers on Thursday. After a bad start to the season with four consecutive defeats, the visitors from Neumarkt have won each of their last two encounters after overtime. The Cavaliers are in eleventh place in the table with six points. Merano has nine points and is seventh in the table. The “Eagles” have won three of their last five games, including the first duel of the season with Unterland, which went to Meran 4:3/OT. On September 26, HCM prevailed despite Unterland leading 3:0 until 23 minutes before the end of the game. Meran have won all three games in front of their home crowd this season, while Unterland are still waiting for their first win away from home. They have not won any of their last six away games in the Alps Hockey League.

The game between HK RST Pellet Celje and the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan also takes place on Thursday. The visitors from Sterzing are currently in bad shape; after two wins at the start of the season, they have not won any of their next five games, leaving them bottom of the table with five points. The South Tyroleans celebrated one of their two victories against Celje. The Broncos beat the Slovenians 5:2 at the season opener. In the meantime, Celje were already 2:0 ahead. The Slovenians' season has gone in exactly the opposite direction to that of Sterzing. Although they were beaten in all of their first three games, they then won three games in a row to move up to eighth place in the table.
