After their 5:2 opening win, the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers were guests in Gardena on Thursday. The league newcomers got off to a perfect start in their first away game, Luka Nyman scoring after three minutes to take the lead. Matteo Luisetti equalised in the first period, but the visitors pulled away with a brace in the middle period: Filip Kokoska and Miro Markkula made it 1:3. Two goals by Florian Wiser then meant the clear 5:1 away victory and the lead in the standings.

The Cavaliers are followed by HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice. The Slovenians celebrated their second win of the season with a 5:0 victory over Red Bull Hockey Juniors. Despite a relatively even distribution of chances, the Slovenians finally won clearly, with Zan Jezovsek scoring two goals and also registering an assist.

First defeat for Zell am See
The EK Zell Eisbären had to give up their place at the top of the table due to a 3:4 defeat at Cortina. The Italians took a 2:0 lead in the first period and also restored the two-goal advantage in the middle period after Zell am See got on the scoreboard. But the Salzburg side did not let up and even equalised in the 51st minute. But only one minute later Ronny de Zanna ensured the home victory.

Meran and Kitzbühel also suffered their first defeat of the season. With a strong performance, the Rittner Buam SkyAlps won their first home game of the new season. In the South Tyrolean derby against HC Meran Pircher, a clear 5:1 victory was on the scoreboard at the Ritten Arena in the end. EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel came back from a 0:2 deficit at Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan, but finally had to admit defeat in overtime. Justin Maylan scored the decisive goal on power play.

Lustenau celebrates first win
EHC Lustenau achieved a 2:1 overtime win against the Steel Wings from Linz. Just like against Fassa, Lustenau failed to score enough goals, but managed to get two points in overtime thanks to a goal by Chris D'Alvise.
