Linz binds Kalus and Wolf | Another new arrival for Villach

With Marek Kalus and Raphael Wolf the EHC LIWEST Black Wings announced two new players for the upcoming season in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. While Kalus left league rival HC Orli Znojmo, after being its top scorer past season, Wolf completed his commitment at Dornbirn Bulldogs. Further, the EC Panaceo VSV hired another player as the eagles signed Swede Anton Karlsson.

Marek Kalus and Raphael Wolf each signed at Linz
With Marek Kalus and Raphael Wolf the EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz take over two players of league rivals. Kalus played at HC Orli Znojmo past season and managed to promote the Czech side to quarterfinals in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. With 61 points in total (29 G | 32 A) the 25-year-old forward was Znojmo’s best scorer last year. Further, he was ranked tenth among all scorers in the league. After Raphael Wolf played a great World Championship for Austria last month with four appearances in Slovakia, he moved to Linz as well. Wolf was part of the Dornbirn Bulldogs in the past two seasons and played exactly 99 games in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. 

EC Panaceo VSV presents another new arrival
After signing 22-year-old Swede Anton Karlsson, the EC Panaceo VSV strengthened its roster with another import player. Karlsson played the past two seasons for Leksands IF in the Allsvenskan, earlier he showed up 40 times in the SHL. Further, he was drafted by Phoenix Coyotes back in 2014 and was part of Swedish junior national teams. The VSV fitted Karlsson with a one-year contract. 

„Anton Karlsson is a talented player with a good feeling for hockey and tactics. He can be very important for as in PP and PK too. He will have more minutes and responsibility on the ice, which we can work on”, Jyrki Aho, head coach of VSV, said. 

„I will make another step forward in my career and I am sure that the club, coach and league will we perfect for me. I cannot wait for meeting my new teammates and VSV’s amazing home crowed, cheering for us all the time”, Anton Karlsson mentioned.
