The Moser Medical Graz99ers went into the third game of the series with a 2:0 series lead. After Steinbach Black Wings Linz were able to set the tone in the opening minutes, the Styrians became stronger and took the lead in the sixth minute. After a Brunner shot, the puck bounced to Sam Antonitsch, who fired in his fifth goal of the season. Linz responded promptly when Shawn St-Amant equalised, but Graz went ahead again: Lukas Kainz (10') poked the puck over the line. The visitors held on to their 2:1 lead until the first period break. After the restart and for long stretches of the middle period, Graz set the tone. The home side only became more active again in the final minutes before the second break, but the Styrian side's lead remained narrow after 40 minutes. The Upper Austrians tried a lot in the third period, but Jonas Gunnarsson stopped several attempts - the Swede made a spectacular save on a Kristler shot and shortly before the end against St-Amant. The hosts finally managed to equalise 42 seconds before the end of regulation time, with Sean Collins scoring in the first powerplay of the game to make it 2:2. The first period of over time saw an open exchange of blows, with Graz unable to capitalise on their first power play. It took until the 88th minute for Shawn St-Amant to decide the game. Linz reduced the deficit in the best-of-7 series to 1:2, with the fourth game taking place in Graz on Saturday.
