Both teams - EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau and HC Fassa Falcons - searched their luck in the offense (totally 41:32-shots). The Italians had the better start into the game and took the lead already after 230 seconds. The Austrians stayed unimpressed: Philipp Koczera (7./pp) equalized in the first Power Play and still in period 1 Robin Axbom (17.) turned the game around. The Vorarlberger took the momentum into the second period and were on Fire now: With five goals within 16 minutes scored by David Slivnik (24.), Philip Putnik (29.), Yan Stastny (29./pp, 36./pp2) and David Kreuter the Lions extended their lead to 7:1. Early in the third period David König added the final 8:1. Fassa had their chances too, but goalie Lukas Schluderbacher was on Fire as well and stopped 31 from 32 shots from the Falcons.
