Alps Hockey League, round 34:
Thu, 24.01.2019: HK SZ Olimpija vs. EC-KAC II 6:3 (3:2,3:1,0:0)
Referees: METZINGER, PAHOR; spectators: 693
HK SZ Olimpija has recorded their third win in a row by beating EC-KAC II 6:3 at home on Thursday. The Slovenes were the more dangerous team right from the start. Ales Kranjc has finally netted the lead with a shot from the distance in a Power Play, when Alex Moser was sitting in the penalty for delaying the game. But the Austrians had a quick answer. Just 23 seconds later, Philipp Cirtek made it all even. History repeated itself in minute 17: Zan Jezovsek made it 2:1, before Dennis Sticha equalized just 14 seconds later - 2:2! The green dragons stayed unimpressed and took the lead into the first intermission thanks to Gregor Koblar. The hosts had a perfect start into period 2 as well: Just moments after the first break, David Planko increased the lead to two - 4:2. Simon Hammerle got one back later in the match. In minute 35, Simon Hammerle came close to his second, but he just hit the post. Klagenfurt was quickly punished by the Slovenes: Ales Music got the puck and scored on the break - 5:3. A good minute later Ziga Svete put the hosts ahead by 3. The final period saw just little action: HK SZ Olimpija once more had more shots, but the best chance went to EC-KAC II, when captain Markus Pirmann had a solo breakaway but Zan Us came out of a face to face duel as the winner.
Goals HKO: Kranjc (8./pp – Music, Cepon), Jezovsek (17. – Koblar, Rajsar), Koblar (19. – Planko, Jezovsek), Planko (21. – Zajc, Grahut), Music (35.), Orehek (36. – Svete, Pesut)

The Mozart Citizens have been successful in both meetings with the VEU Feldkirch: After winning semifinal number 1 7:4 at home on Tuesday, they came back from a 0:3 in Feldkirch and won 5:4/OT.
