MAC, Almaty and St. Pölten celebrate perfect weekend

Three games took place in the European Women's Hockey League on Sunday. MAC Budapest, Aisulu Almaty and the Sabres St. Pölten celebrated victories. It was the second success of the weekend for all three teams.

MAC Budapest also won their second meeting with Tauron Metropolia Silesia within 24 hours. Silesia took the lead in Katowice, but the Hungarians promptly equalised. The score remained 1:1 until the 46th minute, when Budapest capitalised on its first power play through Sophie Lupone. Bieke van Nes scored the final goal for a 3:1 victory.

Aisulu also had a perfect weekend, winning 4:2 against KSV Highlanders. The Austrian side turned around an early deficit and took a 2:1 lead into the first break. Aisulu turned the game in their favour in the middle period, ultimately celebrating their second win of the season and defending third place.

St. Pölten also clearly won their second game of the season, defeating Budapest Jegkorong Akademia 6:1. The Austrians laid the foundation for the victory in the first period, scoring five goals between the sixth and 20th minutes. After Hannah Tait made it 6:0 after the restart, the Hungarians managed to score an honourable goal.
