The six Sunday-games in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga brought totally 51 goals and wins for the Austrian teams from Villach, Vienna, Linz, Innsbruck, Graz and Dornbirn.

Black Wings were on Fire in the persecutor clash
EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz had a perfect start into the persecutor-clash vs. HC Orli Znojmo. The Upper Austrians took a quick 2:0-lead after goals from Joel Broda (4.) and Rick Schofield (4.). The Czechs had their first chance in minute 9. Just two minutes later Nemec scored the 1:2 from a rebound. Now the „Red Eagles“ made some pressure, but the Austrians came back into the game and had then everything under control. Also the second period started perfect for the Upper Austrians, already after 44 seconds Dan DaSilva made the 3:1. Shorthanded Jan Lattner gave the guests some hope again, but still in the same Power Play Jonathan D’Aversa made the 4:2 from the blue line (23.). At halftime Corey Locke scored the 5:2 in another Power Play, while Mike Ouzas stopped a shot from a „Red Eagle“ with a big save. Then Rick Schofield was not to stop and he scored the 6:2 in a shorthanded situation (33.). Now Marek Schwarz was replaced in the net by Pechek. In the last period Znojmo scored their third goal in a 5-on-3-Power Play. But Linz had no problems to fix three points at home and added two more goals from Fabio Hofer in another Power Play and a blue liner from Gerd Kragl.
 
Innsbruck took three points from Szekesfehervar
With Antonin Manavian out and David Gilbert back on ice, Fhervar AV19 started the game better as Swette had to save Erdely’s shot right after the beginning. After a missed chance from Lammers Fehervar was on the powerplay, both Erdely and Luttinen was close to scoring but they missed the opportunities. Fort he first half of the period, Fehervar was the better team on ice, Krisztian Szabó missed just by centimetres. After Jyrkkiö’s penalty, Innsbruck had a powerplay chance as well, but Rajna saved the shots from Bishop and Sedivy. Playing full strength, Erdely put the puck in the offensive zone and gave a perfect pass to Gilbert who didn’t miss. After the goal, Fehervar had their second and third powerplay, moreover, for the second, the home team attacked five on three for 20 seconds but the score remained 1:0. Innsbruck started better in the second period, Clark missed his first chance but he didn’t after Yogan’s pass and tied the game 6 minutes into the second period. Vidmar hit the post right after the goal, then, in spite of the past-paced game, neither team could make any good play until the middle of the period, Wahl, then Gilbert had a good chance on the other end. Blain-Oulette fouled twice in just three minutes, which meant two powerplay opportunities for Fehervar, yet Erdely and co. didn’t threaten. The period ended with a chance from Yogan but Rajna saved. The third period started with Krisztian Szabo’s shot 3 minutes later Clark passed to Yogan who put the puck in the net, 1-2. After Lindner’s foul Fehervar had another powerplay, without success. In the middle of the period Yogan shot from close, but Rajna saved. Fehervar fought hard for the goal but they missed another powerplay. Luttinen and Latendresse missed on one end, the former Fehervar player Wehrs threatened on the other. The score didn’t change until the 55th minute, when the puck got to Hunter Bishop who shot in the upper left corner. 4 minutes before the end of the game Erdely had to sit in the penalty box, yet Innsbruck didn’t score another goal. After a counterattack five on five, Latendresse scored and made the end game exticing for both teams. Laporte pulled Rajna 90 seconds before the buzzer but John Lammers decided the game with an empty net goal.
 
Capitals continued their winning-streak at Klagenfurt
Already early in the game Taylor Vause tested KAC-goalie David Madlener. Then the Red Jackets found better into the game and made much pressure. But it were the guests from Vienna, who scored the first goal from Nikolas Hartl. Klagenfurt had a quick answer and equalized 90 seconds later thanks a goal from Thomas Koch. After the re-start Vienna had a four minute Power Play, but the Carinthians defended well and then they even took the lead after a power-attack from Julian Talbot – 2:1. Talbot got the puck on the blue line, skated to the net and scored. The Record Champion now got some extra boost and made pressure. Then Klagenfurt also „survived“ another shorthanded situation late in the period. Period 3 belong to Vienna, that equalized after just 25 seconds. While Matt Neal missed an empty net, Vienna took the lead: A shot from Rafael Rotter bounced into the net. After a boarding Steven Strong had to leave the ice. In the 5 minute Power Play Vienna decided the game with goals from Riley Holzapfel and Ryan McKiernan – 5:2. Vienna has now the maximum from 33 points after eleven games 2017/18.
 
99ers won goal-festival against Zagreb 7:5
The Moser Medical Graz99es started strong into the game and took a quick 2:0-lead: Sezinger and Weihanger finished good plays. The Bears were shocked, but they took advantage from a bad pass to score the 1:2 from Tyler Morley. The Croatians now got stronger. In minute 20 Mike Boivin took advantage from another mistake in the 99ers-defense and scored the 2:2. In the second period the 99ers were not to stop. First Brock Higgs with a big shot, next Markus Pirmann, then Aleksi Laakso with another big shot and finally Jonathan Carlsson with a shot from the blue line in a Power Play made it 6:2 for strong Grazer. Early in period three Higgs decided the match with his second goal – 7:2. The Croatians did not give up and took advantage from some carelessness of the 99ers. With three goals within seven minutes Zagreb made it 5:7. Now Doug Mason took his Time Out to wake his team up. In the last 120 seconds Graz brought the win home.
 
Dornbirn Bulldogs beat Salzburg again
Dornbirn Bulldogs and EC Red Bull Salzburg searched their luck in the offense. Already in minute eight the Mozart Citizens took the lead: After a pass from Mario Huber, who intercepted a shot from Olivier Magnan first, John Hughes made it 1:0. On the other side Dustin Sylvester just hit the post  moments later. The 1:1 was made then by Brodie Reid a few minutes later, he beat Luca Gracnar with a shot through the legs. And still in period 1 Fraser finished a break-away for the 2:1 for the west-club. In period 2 Dornbirn extended their lead in a Power Play: Jamie Arniel scored his first goal 2017/18. Salzburg answered with a Power Play goal from Thomas Raffl (35.). The third period run perfect for DEC: Fraser with a rebound and then Chris D’Alvise from a short distance made it 5:2. The Red Bulls took full risk in the final four minutes, but coud score just one more goal from Alexander Aleardi (59.), when goalie Luka Gracnar had left already his net for an extra-skater. So the Dornbirn Bulldogs beat the Mozart Citizens also in the second season-clash.
 
Villach won for the first time since 1.127 days at Bozen
The first period belong to HCB Südtirol Alperia. The Foxes showed nice combinations and took a 2:0-lead thanks goals from DeSousa and Petan, who both scored after perfect passes from Mike Halmo. In between goalie Marcel Melichercik had to stop three good shots from Villach. Then the Italians had the upper hand again and had some good chances for a higher lead. In period 2 Bozen first missed to score again in a 4 minute Power Play. Better did the Austrians, who reduced the score in minute 29 in a Power Play – 1:2. Just moments later Petan had the big chance for the 3:1 after a counter, but he was stopped by David Kickert. Then The Eagles made some pressure. The final minutes oft he period belong to Bozen again, but the Foxes could not score. Also early in the third period Bozen had good chances from Smith,  DeSousa and Marchetti, but all failed to score. Better did Villach: Marchetti was hit from the puck in the face and stopped, Valentin Leiler took the puck and scored the 2:2. Bozen quickly took the lead again thanks a goal from Halmo, who finished a diagonalpass from Petan. Villach also answered quicky again: Hickmott scored from a rebound after a shot from Bacher. The Foxes now made pressure again, but Petan after a counter and DeSousa stayed unlucky. On the other side Hickmott made it better and scored the Game Winner from a counter.
