Marc-Olivier Roy is the new center forward of HC Pustertal. The 27-year-old Canadian was top scorer of his team at the time of the withdrawal of the iClinic Bratislava Capitals and moved to Finland in the "Liiga". From there, the journey of the left-shooter continued to Karlskoga (Sweden). Last season thus brought three stops and 13, four and twelve scorer points respectively.

Roy has followed the classic path of the Canadian youngster and found his way to professional field hockey via the strong junior league QMJHL. After a strong season with the Quebec Remparts and the Memorial Cup semifinals, the move to the professional ranks followed. Drafted by the Oilers in 2013, Roy then spent 6 years in the ECHL and AHL. There, he recorded 209 ECHL (170 points) and 100 AHL (30 points) appearances for various teams. In 2021 Roy won the ECHL with the Fort Wayne Komets, then followed by a move to Europe to Bratislava. Now Pustertal fills with Marc-Olivier Roy the 7th import position in the squad.

Marc-Olivier Roy: "I am very happy to be able to play for HC Pustertal in the upcoming season. My family and I have heard only good things about the city, the club and especially the fans. I know some players of HCP, and I am sure that it will be great fun to play together with them and hopefully, to fight for a top place. I really enjoyed my time in the ICE last season and my ultimate goal was to come back and prove that I am one of the top players in the league. I am really looking forward to getting to know you in August and until then I wish everyone a safe and beautiful summer. South Tyrol is fantastic, I'm really looking forward to living there."
